My First Collection?

Well, well, well…look at me making more patterns to go with other patterns and forming an actual COLLECTION of patterns. That’s a lot of ‘patterns’ in one sentence.

After 5 days of playing in Adobe Illustrator (again) I managed two designs that go together. I’m so excited and you can see the latest at the bottom of the About Me page.

More thrilling is the fact that I have not simply tucked it away. I posted it on Instagram. I added it to the Portfolio page. I even made a page to link the full collection. Of course, right now that collection is just two patterns but I am planning to work on a third.

The point is I’m doing all the steps.

  1. Make pattern

  2. Make a complimentary pattern

  3. Showcase the main pattern

  4. Link secondary patterns with another linked page

This may seem like a ‘yeah, no kidding…that’s what you do’ moment for most people but for me it’s kind of big. I don’t know where this whole experience will take me but I am choosing to celebrate MY little victories along the way.

This doesn’t mean I’ve become an overnight overachiever. I am still moving at the pace that allows me to COMPLETELY enjoy the process. What better way to lose interest in a thing than to overdue it at the start!?

So did I make my first collection? Yes and no. I have 2 patterns to START my first collection and I am excited to add at least one more design to it.

I am, however, equally proud that I followed through with steps of sharing. And also a little mind-blown that I managed to get it all up and working on the website as well!

So you can navigate the sight to see how it all works out. Or you may have already seen it on my Instagram (I’m so glad to have you with me there). Or here’s a quick link to the collection page.

I’d love to know what you think but I guess that means I have to figure out how to allow comments on these posts! Oops…better add it to my to-do list!

Thanks for reading, anyway, and for now feel free to send your opinions via email if you like.

UPDATE: Add another one to the victory pile…you are now free to comment! Have fun, be honest, but BE NICE!

Authentic and non-niched. I love cute things, mystical things, ‘ugly’ things….I embrace it all. The adorable and the confusing.
